Grandmaster David Ducay - Kajukenbo-Escrima

David Anthony Ducay was born and raised in the Navy town of Vallejo, CA, located in Northern, California. He is a Karate- Filipino Martial Arts instructor who trained in KaJuKenBo, Doce Pares – Eskrido, a Grand Master under KSDI Board of Administrators (BOA). His martial arts journey started in 1973, training in Moo Duk Kwon (TKD) under Master John Nesbitt, David was an athlete - a track All American hurdler in high school which earned him a Track & Field scholarship at Stanislaus State in the late 1970s.

Kajukenbo-Escrima is a hybrid martial art that combines the traditions and self-defense techniques of Kajukenbo with the weapons applications of the Filipino martial art of escrima.

David Anthony Ducay was born and raised in the Navy town of Vallejo, CA, located in Northern, California. He is a Karate- Filipino Martial Arts instructor who trained in KaJuKenBo, Doce Pares – Eskrido, a Grand Master under KSDI Board of Administrators (BOA). His martial arts journey started in 1973, training in Moo Duk Kwon (TKD) under Master John Nesbitt, David was an athlete - a track All American hurdler in high school which earned him a Track & Field scholarship at Stanislaus State in the late 1970s.

His first instructions in Filipino Martial Arts began in the early 1980s in the art of Kempo and Kali from the late Master Patrick Salentes, after he seek full time training with SGM Emil Bautista until he received his Black Belt, from there he learned Doce Pares Eskrima – Eskrido from the late SGM Ciriaco “Cacoy” Canete, then a Largo Mano family art called Sayas-Lastra Arnis under Master Eddie Lastra. David was employed with Chevron Corporation where he and a close friend opened up a Martial Arts training facility called CHO in San Ramon, Ca., to train Corporate employees the KaJuKenBo / Filipino martial art, also taught at the SBC / AT&T, teaching employees at their facility. He had the opportunity to study through classes / seminars under several Masters / instructors in empty hands and the arts of Kali, Arnis and Eskrima here on the West Coast of the United States. In his search, experience gained for the weaponry arts and KaJuKenBo, he was able to help develop the KaJuKenBo-Escrima System along with SGM Emil Bautista (empty hand) and SGM Max Pallen.

From his experience, knowledge, David Ducay became the KaJuKenBo empty hand and Eskrima instructor for the Vallejo KSDI Self-Defense Institute. He founded the bay area Kapatirans, Kali-Eskrima-Arnis cultural arts and demonstration group. A instructor / organizer of the Vallejo branch of Doce Pares Eskrima Club under Cacoy Canete. He was the head instructor of the Chevron Martial Arts Club, first outside weapon instructor to be accepted by the Hae Yong Kwan organization as the only educator / instructor for the FMA arts at the Tae Kwon Do headquarters in Vallejo, Ca. a Co-Founding member of the Unified FMA Council in northern California. He is a coach, and trainer of a number of past and current top ranked stick-fighting regional champions.
